Igor Stravinski's burial stone in Venice

"I haven't understood a bar of music in my life, but I have felt it."

and he also said, lest you think he was always somber (or sober):

"My God, so much I like to drink Scotch that sometimes I think my name is Igor Stra-whiskey."

Wise words from a man of highest stature and irony... he who wrote timeless music... and who died in NYC, but choose to be buried in the most unique city in the world, Venice.

Above shown is his burial stone, photo by Martino Pietropoli at SAN MICHELE IN ISOLA - VENEZIA SAINT MICHAEL ISLAND IN VENICE ITALY.

Thanks to Martino Pietropoli for the nice shot.
